Hey guys,
I live just outside of Calgary and am ready to tour. I'm looking to meet split partners anywhere from Revelstoke, Golden, Fernie, Canmore, K-Country etc. I don't mind driving out to those areas. I have about 8 years backcountry experience. I have next week off work so I can go mid-week if anyone wants to meet up for some pre-Christmas tours.

I live in fernie and am always interested in new riding partners, I currently find myself riding with skiers most of the time and would like to get out with some more snowboarders. Let me know on here if you're coming through this way and we can talk about heading out

What were you thinking?
I know some of the areas from sledding a few years. I know of one "decent" hill. I like it for chilled cruiser runs down through sparse trees. There is another slope that's would be a great ride providing conditions are good. Thing is early season sleds won't be going up so it's perfect for skinning.
It's about a 8-10km skin in. Used to do it on my sled... now starting to miss the sled not so much for sledboarding, but just getting to the base of hills.
I may know of one other location that may be a shorter vertical skin in but I've never done it before. Might be worth PMing back and forth. Thing is I NEVER seen anybody ride them. I was the only one. (and love this area because of that!)

Toured up the emerald lake slide path yesterday and emerald peak was incredible as well as he snow was great! Stability was good although remnants of a slide days ago on one section from chute.
linked up with dan and hit the slackcountry west of the resort today, it's super soft and stable, people are hitting some pretty big lines out there! we got 2 big powder runs in and scoped out some nice lines for tomorrow

You haven't explored around enough then guy...the ridge you are talking about at tunnel is called planetary ridge at tunnel creek...the ridge directly behind it is called the mcdermitt range and it is bigger and gnarlier than planetary. There are incredible lines everywhere here, and they were all pioneered by guys on 210s when we were likely in preschool.

I've never explored on a split. I just started splitboarding and I've only snowmobiled in Fernie where access is limited unless your willing to break rules.
The area I was talking about isn't near Fernie and much closer to the divide.

Sounds like a good time for sure!
Post some pics if you have any!
We're heading out this weekend but just for some slack tree riding in Yoho.
