Seriously considering buying an $89 ticket from San Francisco. Would anyone be able to pick me up at the airport and provide a place to crash? I could bring a sleeping bag and pad. Would also be up for splitting a cheap hotel room. And I'd be up to chip in for gas for the drive back to Tahoe if the timing was right (like friday or saturday).

I've been talking with aksltxlt about meeting in S. Lake Tahoe and then drive to Vegas. I thought about flying out of Stockton as well because the flights are very inexpensive from there. I need to do a little more coordinating before I can commit, but I am excited about this opportunity to ride my new setup.

Actually, I just checked the map and it isn't that much further to drive through Tahoe than head down the 5 and cut over.

I can fit 3 guys and split gear in my Jeep Cherokee (4x4 and snow tires) with a skybox pretty easily and if we can get three in the car the economics start to make sense for me. I could probably get to Tahoe by 1:00 or 2:00 on Wednesday.

This would be awesome if we could pull it off. I am actually in Stockton, and I should know in the morning if I can go. When do you think we would drive back through S. Lake Tahoe and back to SF?

If I'm driving to Vegas I'd want to ride at least two days. I also want to see my parents (around Auburn) on Sunday. So I was thinking driving back through Tahoe late Saturday, spending the day with my parents on Sunday and then heading back to the bay that evening. Theoretically, you could leave your car at my parents house (10 mins of 80).

Edit: leaving your car in S. Lake would probably work better if I'm picking both of you guys up.

I'm just glad my original idea of going to Vegas stoked other people. Hopefully you guys are able to slay it while I am at work.
