Go for it. I've ridden a 156 Hovercraft and thought it was a great board to be part of a quiver.

6' 90kg -> I would get the 160. You will have more weight in your pack for one. Also I would want longer skis for breaking trail.

(I haven't ridden a hovercraft)

The Hovercraft that I rode was a solid so I can't comment on the ability to skin with such a short board but it was a 156 and it was long enough for me at 5'8" and 195 pounds. I tend to ride hard enough to give most boards a good workout and was satisfied with the HC as a pow board. I was riding the ski area on it and it was good enough on groomers but that wasn't where it wanted to be.

The float was just fine on a cold PNW pow day. By my standards it was blower but YMMV if you're used to Rocky mountain snow.
