I agree about snow-forecast, but it looks like this year Environment Canada is no longer doing alpine forecasts for ski resorts, now it's some private forecaster doing them for Whistler.
It's looking like 1500m FL now, so I'm not as bitter I didn't head up there now, it should be some nice heavy stuff to help fill in the alpine.

Whistler forecast is 70 to 90 cm tonight and 45-60 tomorrow, with 1800m freezing level dropping tomorrow later in day.

Thats a lot of snow, or rain. Seems like it will be a while yet before Im out in the backcountry.

Yeah they posted about why they won't be opening the alpine any time soon on their facebook page, it looks pretty sketchy in the sea-to-sky right now:

Yah wow, it was a good day to put up Christmas decorations! Grey Cup tomorrow, the backcountry calls, but I'm screening my calls until stability heals itself a bit. Still, great start to the season, gonna be a fat ass base built by the time we hit December 1.

Looks like we are going to get some nice weather finally, hopefully the hazard comes down, although I am not sure how well the snow faired with that rain event. Just a note, they (Avalanche road dudes on Duffey Lake RD) knocked one down near the lake(in the typical spot) that crossed the road from the alpine. Was shut down here for a while.

Went for a "quick" tour to Keith's hut area sunday, just rode the trees above the hut and a little beyond off the ridge. Definitely need more snow, coverage was decent, but a lot of stuff is wind hammered, with some powder on top in places. I didn't go anywhere else, no time.

Skin in was crusty most of the way, lots of surface hoar growing in many areas. Maybe this temperature inversion thats going on will help get rid of it, but it looks like high pressure is around to stay.

Still was a nice sunny day to be out. Darken up my moustache tan line.
