i opted to stay local this past weekend and went to check this spot out. not quite in my backyard, but pretty damn close for someone who's used to the 4 hour drive up to tahoe!
it was a bit of a hike up from the valley floor
but we soon found what we came for
ale drops in to the first run.
i wonder why they call it "rock mountain"?
that didn't stop us from another lap.
still a little boney in places...
the clouds cleared from the top momentarily
just enough visibility to dodge the rocks!
no snowboards were harmed (much) in the production of this tr.
Ale demonstrated a perfect example of the Tom Burt "T bone air"
Those hops look pretty damn tasty!
Way to get after the preseason goods boyz

HA,
I try to brew, though not too scientific about it. Usually it comes out decent. I was brewing up my own version of DFH's 90 minuts, but I am call it 4:20 ips cuz a dropped an 1/4 OZ of hops roughly every 4 min 20 sec. homegrown cacades and cenntenials... finally keggin today! got about 12 gallons.
You brew?
pizza oven was my summer project, but it's still a ways from completion. Have a lot of stone to throw still. I can start using it as is though in about a week. planning on cooking thanksgiving dinner in it for the grand firing.

kinda making it up as I go along, but I have a pdf for step by step plans for a traditional dome oven. There is a website called fornobravo that you can get them from. they are free in their store.
I'm doing more of a bread baking/ roasting oven, in the shape of a barrel vault. I'll post a photo tutorial in the random section.
