I was wondering if anyone out there is using canted footbeds on their splitboard. I have a pair of Ride SPi bindings with their Wedgie 3.0 footbeds, and I am wondering if I should try and change them out with flat ones.

What I am thinking is that when you our touring it will be difficult to place the plank down flat reliably, maybe that isn't to big of a concern. But just looking for some feed back.

You want to have flat under you feet for touring and put the Cant in the pucks.
These will need to be customs. Normally about 5deg.

I am still doing conversions and have found the SPi's are pretty nice if you're thinking about upgrading.

If I only had an injection molder I would've done the canted pucks already. What are you thinking about charging to make some up firstlight? Would they work with the standard adjustable Voile pucks, ie a wedgie puck that would slide under the Voile pucks so they keep their adjustability? Also thought about doing something myself like that, but don't really have the time.

They are the same as the FirstLight Slider plate but with a 5 deg cant.

I have thought about just making a base plate for the voile Pucks as this would be easier (not as complicated for the CNC).
It will all come down to the level of interest.

Thanks for the replies guys. The bindings I bought are actually the Ride SPi from last year with the canted footbed, and I also have a pair of SPi's from 08/09 that I still be using on my resort board. I need to get the new ones in and take a look at what my options are as far as the base plate goes.

Totally vain and not a big deal, but the new bindings are red and would match better with my splitboard, and the older SPI's bindings are black and look good on my resort board. So just for cosmetic reasons I want the the red ones on the split, but I will do what I need to too make it work.

Firstlight, that slider plate looks pretty cool I will need to keep that in mind after I get the new bindings in.

Also Rughty, how much would it cost to do your conversion on one of the pairs of SPi's? Your work looks really good!

Voile has offered cants to fit under their pucks - think they were charging $40-50 before shipping. I built my 5° canted pucks precisely because the pucks always migrated off the top of the Voile Cants.


I'm surprised you get requests for the canted puck, as I've had them for several years and get zero interest.
