Hey all.

Just got a split, avy gear, etc. Eager to use it this season and am wondering about some solid areas around the Columbia River Gorge. Live in Hood River and am looking to meet a few folks or at least get some idea of the backcountry areas.

Any beta is greatly appreciated.

Hi There! There is a thread called 'Split Partners Wanted' that has a subthread called 'PDX Splitters Unite' or something like that, we have 4 or 5 peeps so far lined up to ride together this season.

At least my friend Chris and I are going to Palmer snowfield this Sunday, pending weather... post up in the subthread under my thread and we'll let you know when we are going out.

As far as where to go, I really like the Cooper Spur area and that's on your side of Hood, so basically right in your backyard!
