I don't understand this post. Is this negativity really necessary? There is absolutely no reason to say that he's made a bad choice. He can afford expensive pants and I see no reason to be jealous of that. Besides he did say that he had a 20% off coupon and gift cards.

For you bib users - do the shoulder straps interfere with your pack? On the shoulders or on the back?

Does anyone have any experience with the Burton AK 2L gore tex bibs? I can't find anything else that is under 400, that has a gore tex shell...never had or seen any good things from burton in years, but I have heard their AK gore tex line is pretty waterproof and durable...

Its those or the Volcom overall pants, which have a 20k rating.

I tired a pair on last night actually, and the fit was pretty good. I am debating between those or going with the Orage Gibson bibs, they are 3L Gore tex...

I have never heard of the company though, so that leans me back at the Burton AK's. I just have a really hard time trusting Burton gear. Their bibs looked pretty nice, and they were really light for a bib. I tried on the XL and it had plenty of space for my summer beer belly and i was layered up with a mid weight hoody on as well.

Fwiw I really enjoy my Orage jacket, but I couldn't tell you anything about the pants. Good construction, materials, etc on my top though.

Always check Mountain Equipment Co-op when gear shopping. Their in-house gear brand is consistently a good value, they have an excellent warranty and they have good environmental practices.

I can highly recommend the Oakley snowboard bibs...good zips, super light and comfy. And the straps stay up.

I highly unreccomend the DC bibs. I ordered medium in red and when I tried them on the dog whined and my wife told me that if I wore a little yellow hat I'd look exactly like a Lego man.

+1...I bought the Oakley Seth Morrison model bibs (not sure the exact model name) last season and love them. They were a bit on the pricey side, but I got a good discount, and they were totally worth it. Great for touring as well as chair lifts.

I've got a couple pairs of Burton 3L bibs... 1 pair I've had since 04' and another will be my 3rd season in them.. They keep on rockin, and I've always stayed dry... I really don't like the other bibs out there.. Especially the Arcteryx.
