Have read a lot about Arcteryx bibs on the web, and was able to dig up a post or two here from a few years back. Anyone rocking the bib style out there? I'm curious what you've found. Not sure I want to take a $350 leap for pants, but if it means I don't have to think about saggy ass and snow up my back, I could get on board.

Seems like the Stinger Bib was rated highly (Arcteryx) but I also came across a Skull Horn Bib (North Face) that is more affordable, but doesn't seem to get any reviews. Looks like it might be less water/conditions repellent though.

If anyone has experience here, lemme know.

Hi i have a burton ak bib 10 years old and i am happy,but this year there is a new burton ak bib with gore two layers.I am waiting to try on the shop and...bib forever!!

I have a pair of Pataguchi Six Chuter Bibs that I use for winter mountaineering and deep pow days. I like them alright, but I wouldn't pay retail to replace them. Patagonia has a pair of bibs in their current product line, but 6 bills is ridiculous!

Westcomb Revenant Bib

Marmot makes five or six good pair of bibs from WPB to softshell. I rock a pair from a few years ago made of Goretex but only when it's nasty weather. On good weather days I have a pair of Schoeller softshell pants that I picked up from the thrift store. I have retro-fitted them with a pair of suspenders however so they're sort of like bibs.

I just bought the North Face Skullhorn Bib from backcountry.com. The description says that they have a "Park" style fit to them, but they don't seem noticeably baggier than the Marmot pants I have been rocking. I haven't had a chance to ride/tour in them yet, but after trying them on I think they'll do just fine. They aren't GoreTex, but they have a sufficient waterproof rating for what I want to do (i.e. in-bounds powder days and side country day tours; no overnight trips), and they were only $240, which is a substantially lower price for most other Bibs I was looking at.

Trew makes a bib too that I've been eyeing. They look nice but I've never see a pair in person.

^^^I'll be rocking the Trewth Bib this year. I picked up last years model for cheap online and based on my experience last year with the previous years (see a trend?) Cosmic I doubt I'll be disappointed. Bomber gear for sure.

They are a good fit, I like my outerwear on the loose side.

Can't say how they perform as I am yet to ride in them.

I ended up back ordering the Arcteryx Stinger bib pants. I found a lot of high marks for these pants all over the web and liked how the fit is technical/slim, but snowboard friendly. Fortunately I used the REI 20% coup and had a couple gift cards to make the price tolerable.

I liked that the feature set was very similar to the Arcteryx Theta (also really favorably reviewed online), but the fit was a bit more relaxed in the legs, and they also include two cargo pockets, unlike the Theta (NO pockets).

Will re-post this winter to give this thread some closure as far as my selection goes. Would be good to see others' post back up how their pants hold up as well. Cheers.
