Totally stoked on this setup Vapor, Nice work
I had toyed with the idea of tapping mount holes in the side of the voile sliders to bolt bomber style bails direct to the voile plate (thus minimizing any stack height) but was afraid to try bending the bails to accommodate the extra width. Looks like you succeeded in doing that but I'd be worried about the extra bend stretching and loosening up in hard use. Custom pucks and light rail type plates like you have there, narrowed to fit off the shelf bomber bails would avoid any stretching at the bend and avoid extra steps in production, while allowing some micro adjustment to bail length.
Love the custom connectors and the franken boots too. Did you slot the cuff hinge holes to allow lateral flex?

firstlight that is the rear binding, those sections serve two purposes, first they hold the pads where the front and rear boot soles go. second it stiffens the binding up width wise

Thats actually a very good idea. lol I like to run aggresive angles and use binding holes that are there , if I do that the standard width of the pucks is about as narrow as i can get If you were running say max 15 degrees i bet your design would be easy to manufacture and would save alot of time making the extra hardware. I wanted the bale to wrap around the welt as much as possible so there is a pretty short section between where it flares out and connects to the channel. This reduces the chance the stress will cause the bales to deform. Pretty much flex my boot into a pretzel and the bales don't budge. will abuse the to see in the long run.

I love this board!Todays test run was on a 30 degree north aspect of velvety corn so i was able crank it over hard. The bindings are near perfect, dialed in the way i want with no flex from the 5mm bails due to the fact that they are short. Coming from an alpine background and riding plates you get use to being high off the board, even riding hardboots through the trees at the resort you get use to that height. That said this is the lowest iv'e been in years, about 1/2 inch lower than my previous setup which will have a huge impact on how it will handle in the trees. There is still a bit of machining to be done, each binding roughly 500 grams which is respectable Now onto the next project.....http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx29 ... /002-4.jpg
