i got a mnt hardwear south col 70. perfect for mountaineering and snowboarding. i took out the aluminum stay and took off the top lid.

I just bought the Cilo Gear 45L pack and shovel pocket on Friday and got two days out with it over the weekend. I posted in the other pack thread too but the short version of it is that i couldn't be happier.

For day trips, Arcteryx Silo 30. For overnights, Black Diamond Mission 75. Neither are cheap, but both are solid, reliable gear: bomber, functional, minimalist and ideal for their respective jobs.
