Got a couple of questions... Thinking of splitting my 2010 Rome Design 158. Do you think the board will ride well as a splitboard? Is it the correct size? I weigh 150 without gear. The board is a non directional twin and VERY stiff.
Also, does anyone have experience with the NOLS backcountry snowboard school? It is a two week school in Driggs, Idaho.
Also, I have done a NOLS course but not the splitboarding one. It was a great time, but you will probably get frustrated if you already have some experience in the backcountry, as they will start with all the basics. At least in my course most people were totally unprepared for what they were getting themselves into. Regardless I am sure you will have a great experience if you choose to do it and overall I would highly recommend it.

Put this rome anthem 163cm together for a fella back east. He was stoked - said it handled the variables out there really well. Felt really solid -
If you're going to be dipping into a lot of deep stuff, you may want to size up a bit - with gear you'll likely be pushing 160+. If it was rockered, it might be enough. But with positive camber and a relatively centered stance might be tough keeping the nose up. I think it's better to have a little much than not enough...
Dude... ah.. Rome has a split on the market. It's called the "white room"..

so... ah... what's your point?
because a company has one shape split on the market doesn't necessarily mean it's the best board they make for a splitboard (for an individual) - just my unbiased opinion
