I think the C-clips your are talking about are commonly refereed to as "Chinese Hooks", because they have a "yin & yang" look to them. I am sure the instructions refer to the contact points of a traditional camber board, where the camber lifts up in the middle and the tip and tail curve upward.

I think you will have to "eyeball" it. Look at as many photo as you can of other reverse camber factory splits, or try to go to a shop and psychically check out a reverse camber split in person. If not I would approximate the location of the Chinese Hooks, as if your board was a tradition camber board.

They should be symmetrically located! Don't think that because your board is reverse camber that the hooks should match the contact point and not the shape of the board. Remember, your board will flex under load and your contact points will then resemble a normal board.

Measure 3 or 4 times before you drill (especially if this is your first time building a split), because there is no going back!

PS: I move my Chinese Hooks a little inward from the recommended Voile location, and we have also started moving our touring brackets +1" (depending on board size) forward of the Voile recommended location too. (Tips float better while skinning in deep powder)

Good Luck!

Thanks Pedro, I have a similar size traditional board side by side to approximate the location. And Volie recomends you find the balance point of your board then slide the touring bracket 1 cm forward. You would go 1 inch??

My last board was 1.5" (164cm) forward... Helps the tips pop up in deep snow. My first couple I used the Voile measure and the tails didn't really drop (tip up/ tail down), so you are lifting your leg (& ski) to get over the snow when breaking trail.

PS: Let me know if you need photos, or other advice. Good to see other people gearing up for winter already!!!!

Ya i noticed that the board had some sway in the middle between the touring brackets so I threw 2 1/4 inch threaded rods on either side that have a all nut in the middle ( bracketts did not line up perfect about 2 mm off ). It looks to have done the job and having lock tighted wing nuts on the end i can tighten er right good.
