I'm headed to the Midwest to visit family for a week but I'll be doing a ski trip first week of July. I did Black Mountain (Pine Creek drainage, Absarokas) last July and it was stellar. This year should be even better given the massive snowpack.

Some more photos from this excellent June. If things cool off again, there'll be more good turns to be had. Sorry for the skier shots... Ryan on a fun line between Crazy and Big Timber Peaks. Kate shredding the Rock Creek Headwall on Beartooth Pass. Simon headed towards the Headwall- lots of snow left in the Beartooths! George headed down Big Timber Peak

Sam- sorry for the late response. Those lines in the Crazies were full on east or northeast facing, so we arrived on top of them between 8 and 9. The day on Rock Creek we had was quite cold actually, so we shredded all day long. Not that any of this info has any value at this point in the "season"... I suspect most things have made the transition to full on summer snow by now! But I wouldn't know. Anyone been out recently? I've been in California for the last couple weeks wishing I'd brought the split. Here's some photos from the end of June and early July, plus a link to a fun edit from my pal Ryan from our (possibly last of season) adventure into the Tobacco Roots on 7/1. Pretty fun conditions Me shredding between Crazy and Big Timber Peaks near the end of June Me on the summit of Mount Jackson in the Tobacco Root Mountains, July 1st. Still AWESOME coverage back there at that point. http://vimeo.com/26094109 A fun film of our line on Mt. Jackson. Thanks to Ryan Minton for all the camerawork.

I haven't been out since the first week of June. I found some video footage I shot from the last week of May (Bridger Bowl) and the first week of June (Blackmore) and made a short edit.

Seeing some of the early(!) season shred TRs over the last couple days fueled the stoke. No riding to report, but saw the first snow that stuck around up high for longer than a couple hours. Photo's a couple weeks old and the snow's gone now, but I was psyched to see it at the very least! Snow in the beautiful north couloirs of Mt. Wallace in the Absoroka/Beartooth on 9/17/2011.

There was as 20% chance of snow up high last weekend so I snuck out for an overnight backpacking trip to Hyalite Lake hoping to wake up to a dusting but unfortunately (fortunately?) it ended up being a beautiful night.
