The lower section and sole look great (although it may not sit very well on a strap binding's baseplate) but the upper cuff is basically non-existent. You need that higher cuff for support, its critical. I'm not able to tell from the picture but it doesn't look like this boot has a removable liner. If it did you could put a regular (taller) snowboard boot liner it and achieve the higher cuff you need. Or so I've heard.

Thanks bcrider. I was starting to think the same thing. I think I'm trying too hard to get new mountaineering boots that'll work with my new split too. I was also looking at these:
More the plastic route. Maybe use them with the MTN Plate binding?

I have a friend who swears by them. He uses them with a set of Flow bindings that he swiss-cheesed to eliminate weight.
