On 4.2.11, HikeForTurns, PappaG (skier), and I made a descent of the Notchtop Spire Couloir in Rocky Mountain National Park. Here is some video produced by PappaG of the descent.

Some two hours later, we reached our destination and began scoping out our options. Funny thing about the wind is that it certainly messes with your head. There were talks about backing out even though we all felt confident in our ability as well as the prevailing snow conditions. Not before long, we all agreed this was the day and eventually dropped a good sized cornice to test the south-facing slope without any surprises.

Being the responsible test dummy of recent, I first went down through the choke and reported back with great corn conditions. With hindsight, it was definitely a great thing to have been delayed as we were because had we been on schedule, a fun spring descent would have been anything but.

Forrest, what is your camera setup? Some of those shots look like they were taken from a helicopter.

Thanks Adam, yeah, I have wanted this one for at least 15 years! Next goal will be to try and get it in March POW! It is as good as I expected it to be.
HFT rocks a full DSLR setup, I think he was carrying two lenses, but I am sure he will let you know focal lengths, etc.
I have never much liked the POV video stuff, but I can see how for really cool lines it looks good-Tom got a good feel of the line in this video.

That is one hell of an aesthetic line. Way to go gentlemen.
