So from a design standpoint…can we gather…

The K2 boots use a taller cuff to compensate for their softer flex.

and

The Alpine boots use a shorter cuff to compensate for their stiffer flex.

?[/quote]No, that just means I cut a lot of cuff off my boots, and added a strap to the top of the liner to stiffen up things a bit. Cuts weight and gives me the flex I want for out of bounds stuff.

Where'd you get your 'thermo-s' liners? What size liner for what size boot?

I'm on my second set, my first ones lasted two seasons. I've been very happy with them....they're superlight and remain comfy all day. Good for winter camping too. My only complaint is the inner fabric. It seems to "pile" a little in the heel area. Maybe its a sign that I need shim my heel a tad under my footbed.

There are other brands out there as well. These are the ones I'm familiar with though. Good luck!
