NY Adirondacks - Weekends?

Anybody ride in the Adirondacks, High Peaks region? I was there in late October and there were some slide paths that already had 3-4 feet of snow at the time.

If anyone wants to meet up for a couple days of riding on weekends, let me know!

hey i have been just getting into the backcountry in the dacks and I am always looking for a riding partner so hit me up if your interested the snow is plentiful

three of us are looking to do an overnighter in the next couple weeks..thinking of staying at Orebed LT and attemping Gothics True North..first time in the daks. Coming from VT.

I think we may be aiming for the 2nd weekend in March...conditions look way sketch for this weekend and the outlook doesn't have too much fresh moving in over the next week. 1st wknd of March is out due to other commitments. Depending on weather, 2nd wknd in march.

just curious if you could use an extra partner on your true north ascent

we probably could.. especially someone with a little experience there. Have you done true north before? Still aiming for second weekend, got some stuff on the homefront to deal with though, just sprung on me.. may squash our plans. :nononno:

I would be available in april if the conditions are still good. In in CNY Utica area, and just ordered a new splitty. Keep me posted?

Sweet plan with True North. Its a great ride with the right conditions. Couple of buddies were just on Basin slide and a few slides off the Wolf jaws last weekend and had a blast. Some fresh coming on monday in the higher elevations, could be great next weekend....

Another great option is the Dix wilderness. Longer rolling approach, but Dix Mtn has numerous great slides. Camping options are all over if you are bringing a tent. Macomb slide (3mile approach) is on your way to Dix and can also be a great ride.

If you dont have it already, pick up ADK Slide Guide (Drew Haas) and the ADK topo map. LOTS of possibilities out there! Have fun

damn..gotta bail on this weekend. thanks for the info. I will repost if I get something going in the next few weeks.
