Before I got the MojoRX I rode a Rossignol (built in the last millenium) for about 10 years and I never had a broken strap!
I don't feel secure now, especially when droping a line between rocks and trees! It is not ok to spend 300€/$ and then always have to worry and carry a second pair of straps (both, ankle and toe) or some tape, rope, wire, screwdriver, screw wrench, paper clips, or what else with you!

This is how it has always been. Snowboard gear is notorious for failing. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to get home safe. Stuff breaks; it happens. Just make sure you can get home safe. I try to have enough stuff to fix gear whether it is mine or someone else in the group. And the toe strap is a luxury, not a necessity, you can still make it home without one!

Klafu Did you see signs of wear on the teeth? I know the first run of the straps were a bit soft and the teeth wore out early. I got a replacement sets of ladders (Voile) and they are holding up strong. They seem to have lasted the whole Sth Hemi season with no probs, but we don't get below -15degC on most days.

PedroDelfuego, I agree with you: if you are using your board more than 30-40 times, it is to suppose that something breaks (As you can read above I used my old Rossignol about 60-80 times in a period of about 8-10 years and non of the straps broke. My old board did cost me all about 450$ (board and binding). Now I bought a binding for 300, used it 2 times and a strap broke.)
Voile, Sparks, etc are manufacturers of bindings, they are experts and consumers expect, that the straps should last for more than 2 tours - in that case it is a failure of the manufacturer...
But could also be a fluke, I'll see on my next tours.

It sucks when gear breaks. However, having dealt with Voile customer service (the easiest people in the world to deal with!) I'm sure you'll find a phone call into them worth your time to obtain replacement gear. I wouldn't be worried about gear breaking while riding, if it's gonna happen it'll be while you're strapping in.
