probably you're right, but spark doesn't write it on bracket instructions
and they doesn't supply new screws with the brackets
I'll try to apply these rules on the next brackets I hope to receive in warranty
we'll see if the problem is this or another!

looks like your saying, don't use power tools to torque the screws, use new screws and use the gasket/riser under the bracket.

@ enryso

the best way - I think - send it back to Spark R&D - it is importand for will to see the breakpoint and locat the mistake.

Marcus,
the LT Pin System does not require Touring gaskets underneath and no new screws were given with them. Enrysno just mounted them following the instructions given with the LT Pin.

Clearly a little more R&D needs to be done. One thing Sparks needs to do is supply screws that will fit the brackets well, as the heads on the ones in the photos are not flush. If the heads are too big in diameter and actually butt up against the upright part of the bracket, there will be stress at the joint angle. Not good. Also, if the screws are over-tightened, it could cause problems. but what is considered over-tightening? There's really not a lot of material at the boundary of the upright and the base, but it's hard for me to imagine it breaking without some wicked circumstances. Some structural overkill does need to be factored into the equation of weight savings.

Lets not get carried away here.

This is the first LT that i have seen reported to have broken.

As for supplying the screws, maybe only for a factory split, as DYI may have different hardware altogether. It could be user error (no shim + over tightening), could just be a bad bracket. In the bike business we called this a JRA story. JRA = Just Riding Along; and it broke.

It seems like I'm the only one who DID get screws with his LTs. Seems odd.

@ pietro

C: is my personal mine

guys think a littel bit more about - damping and power of screwns, we talk about mounted light wight alu parts - not iron pices.

there a so mutch parts in ski splitboard wourld the are damping , dynafit topices, sliderpucks , slider gasket usw.
