The BOMB WhitePine....for sure my favorite peice of gear. Quick hasties, shovel tilts, even works super well for cutting cornices. I also read about a study recently from Euro that put shovels to the test and Voile shovels came out on top. I felt the shovel head or whatever you call it was a little small for my liking so I switched it out with the bigger head from an old one. I'm a weight weenie but when it comes down to saving a life I don't bull shit around. Ya Know..
Thanks. I've had my eye one for a while now. I like that the saw fits nicely in the shaft. You just confirmed it for me.
Can the snow saw in the Voile T6 Tech Avalanche Shovel or T-wood Shovel be attached to a pole or probe to cut cornices or cut the back of a Rutschblock?

I have a 2007 Voile T-6 Shovel/Snowsaw. T-6 snowsaw can attach to my to my BD Expedition 3-piece pole. But attached with 1/3 length of the skipole, I am not able to cut a Rutschblock. I use a G3 Rutschblock cord for ECT and Rutschblock tests.
Perhaps a newer T-6 snowsaw will work with Voile probe and ski-poles and get a longer reach (contact Voile and ask).
I like that the T-6 saw stows in the handle, but the handle is long; so it may or may not fit in your pack. Be sure, you have the right pack (size) to carry the T-6 inside your pack. My Ayy instructor "kindly informed" me that all Avy-gear goes inside your pack. Our Lowe packs have a dedicated exposed Avy-gear pocket to carry our shovels and probes, which our guide did not like.
I would recommend the T-6 Shovel/Snowsaw
I would also recommend the G3 Bonesaw (and the BD "Deploy Shovel"), because: 1) the Bonesaw's handle w/strap will attach to any pole. 2) It comes with a ruler painted on the saw. 3) When cutting snowpit tests (columns), the shape of the Bonesaw, helps to lift out the cut-wedges (the sides) for column tests.
Overall I would give a vote for the "Bonesaw".
the BD "Deploy Shovel" works great and there is no chance of losing the handle.
