A few pictures of my DIY Dupraz splitboard...
The Dupraz is awesome in backcountry ( it floats in the pow-pow, it carves in hard snow...), so it was very tempteting for me to make a splitboard out of it !!!

I put inner edges, which give some extra comfort during traverses on hard snow and build sidewalls with a mix of epoxy resins and plastic powder.
I also managed to make some "adaptation plates" which are held with screws in both the original inserts and some extra inserts.
The touring brackets and climbing-heels are also held with epoxy and screws in extra inserts.
Those inserts avoid having too many holes through the board. I drilled the board through only for the hooks screws.
The rigid hook in the nose came from a mistake. Actually, I think they bring some stiffness to that part of the board which is soft and I do keep them.
I am thinking about adding an extra Chinese hook next to the one in the back in order to have a more trustable tail (the tail is very rigid and I have had that chinese hook popping out on very hard snow).

Cool looking adapters for mounting the pucks. How much do they add to the overall height of the pucks from the top of the deck. Weight?. Never heard of that brand before. Nice looking shapes. It seems international brands have way more to offer for powder specific shapes than the North American brands do.

With the adaptator plates, the additional weight is 250 gm. and additional height is 3,5 mm.
Theses plates are inspired by Wildschee. Originally, that guy offered me to sell some to me (nice from him), but toghether with some Voilé pucks (that I did not really needed). When I pointed out that he would sell the pucks the same price as a retailer, he just turned crazy and decided not to send me anything ! Some of you will say his English is so bad, it can be a misunderstanding, but it is not, I think that guy is just mad in his head... (I do have exchanged e-mails to prove what I say).
Anyway, the point is that with plates and inserts, it is possible to make a DIY splitbaord whitout drilling throught the board. I also glued with very efficient epoxy the touring brackets and climbing heels.
I am currently thinking about using modified plucks (made out of plastic or carbon and epoxy) to use both original inserts and some extra inserts, in order to save the extra weight and height of the adaptator plates.
I will post some construction pictures later on, those ones were just shot with my cell phone during recent trips (we still have a incredible amount of snow here in France due to recent snowfalls!)

The good thing is you get to use the factory inserts that are already there
Just put the extra ones in as you require.

That's exactly what I am looking for now, because I realized that the adaptator plates do not bring much advantage (apart from saving the board from having holes drilled throught) as one does not change his angles and stance often.
I saw these pictures before, but I need longer plucks to reach both the original inserts and the new ones.
What is the lenght of the plucks?

you ask me on a sunday afternoon , and i send you very fast fotos and a copplited price for all pices + modification on the volie pucks . You tell me that s to expensive .... you can bay the volie pucks on a other shop cheaper.... it is ok , and you call me agin and again - and i tell you and second time harder: i dont like any buisnes with you , chery picking for chepest price is at woolmarkt. my englisch wirten is not perfect - this is correct but mad in my head .... . I think this not a teama for this forum.

just back to the importand thing - the dup is a good powderboard - thats real , but ....the dupraz had a to flat nose - for climbing up. the problem ist the nose high - the skin must out of the flat . for powder up hill s it is a flat nose not optimal. the flat nose goes under the snow - the nose had in climbing modus no swimming efect.
i hope you lorne this lesoon fast - slider milling is easy the right material is importand - low wight an low temperatur - break resistand.

I don't want to start a flame war or anything. Just want to back burton aka Wildschnee on this one. He sold me 2 Voile kits at a good price here in Germany and pointed me to a cheap eBay dealer for the skins. I dunno what was going on there... Enough... just my 2 ct.
