I went on 3 tours in different areas of Northern VT in the past 3 days. Snow was awesome everywhere. The foot of fresh this morning was a nice little surprise. Broke trail the whole way up today, didn't see another track all day.

Did some of the best turns ever on sunday. Conditions are amazing. Snow is pilling up and is pretty dense but thick. Perfect conditions to surf! Temps were brutal but did i mention the best snow conditions EVER?
Hopefully, we'll get some more snow this week to refresh things up... but man, am i craving for more!
base depths are finally approaching 50"+ along upper ridgelines with deepest snowpack on the western slopes right now. its been snowing steady for ~40 out of 50 days. December was cold and snowy, we had a short lived thaw/warm up with light rain around 12/31-1/1 time frame. this locked things in upon freezing. Jan has been cold and snowy so far and looks to continue.
below 2500 it's still a bit thin and pokey, prolly 12-18". be careful.

Been nursing a funky foot injury and I'm finally healthy enough to ride. Heading up to Stowe area for the first time (finally) this weekend and would appreciate any local beta in the area.
I'll probably do a day in a resort and hunt and peck the side country with a buddy but I was also intending to do 2 days of touring. I'd like to poke around Dewey from the ranch side and I've yet to do the hump so I'm toying with running that too. Any beta would be helpful, thanks. PMs are cool too.

Hey y'all just picked up my first split, and live in burke anyone got any suggestions for a good tour??
What did you get? I'm in Newport and I usually hit Jay because I only know the Burke area on a bike. If you find anything nice and want a touring partner let me know.

Snow Snow Snow and then more snow. That's a summary of the past 3 weeks.
Went on a tour Saturday to get away from the crowds. We felt a bit lazy... so we took the lift up and skinned across from the ridge. Main chutes were bumbed up. Lots of heroes were bootpacking the skin track and putting 6in holes on the climbs... no one was riding with a pack... but most boarders had at least snowshoes (strapped to their packs...) We did 3 more laps that were great. Deeeeep stuff but everywhere had tracks on it... but then again, you had to be creative to set the track back up... didn't run into any uphill highways... everyone was coming from the ridge and skiing the Jailhouse chute (which didn't have much of a cover)
Sunday was completely different. 12in of fresh. All day pow with no much lift lines thanks to the superbowl!
Now, we should get a few more shots of snow to set things up perfectly for the weekend!
