Oh my god that is so obnoxious. Yes, that is the bottom of the south ridge of Superior (great 3000' class 4 summertime scramble). Looks like the top of the coaster would be near the GasEx that got installed a few years ago, a fraction of the way up to the actual summit of Superior.
Hopefully, if it is built, a slide will take it out.

I just sent a polite email basically asking them if they just went batshit.
Then I pointed out that if they were serious about generating summer revenue they'd take the money they planned to spend on the roller coaster and pay some experts to build a mountain bike park in the Big Emma area. If they did it right it would be easy to beat Deer Valley and corner the UT lift assisted DH crowd and gain those local customers as well as the summer tourons.
I just don't get it...
Here are the fuckchops to email and politely ask them to dig deep and pull their heads out of their ass.

WTF? On the most famous mountain in the Wasatch? I understand why they'd want to construct this piece of shit on a south facing slope but why can't they put this back in Mineral Basin where there are former superfund sites and sh!t? They could make the cars look like mining ore cart or something and kinda play off of the mining history back there.

Guys, they just want to be economically viable in the summer... Have you no compassion in your hearts for the horrific hardships that must come with being billionaires many times over..? You guys are just terrible mean people...

Do they think that summer tourists will really say, "lets go to snowbird on vacation so we can ride a little roller coaster" That is dumb as shit.
I always thought that Snowbird would be the premier DH mountain bike area in the US if they just put trails in. It would be a lot cheaper than a roller coaster too. They run the tram all summer anyway.
People go to Whistler from all over the world to ride mountain bikes. They would go to snowbird too.
I think in the end the roller coaster is a gateway for allowing a lift on Superior.

fuck. will looks like i better start looking for a new place to live. i once said once they build a lift on south facing LCC i would move, cuz within months there will be new lifts in silver fork and BCC and voila we have interconnect. good bye central wasatch.
too bad no one gave a fuck about Matheson's wilderness plan snowbird was willing to donate there land on superior to be designated wilderness. but what's the use in crying over spilled milk.

Salt Lake County has granted preliminary approval for the "Dick (bass) Coaster"... Apparently some people can find no happiness short of a planet that is entirely F'n paved and generating revenue...
