heading to the notch tomorrow. thinking about driving down to hit aschutny later this week. they should be getting some snow.

i'm assuming that by "the notch" you mean smuggler's notch? it should be decent up there in the spots where the wind didn't blow all the snow away. just be careful with all of the recent windloading, i found a fairly dense windslab layer in the woods around stowe today.

snow has been pretty good up until this warming, three days or so of melting here.

yeah i did mean smugglers notch. I got two laps up there, great turns no core shots and really good snow.

also went down to ascutney on tuesday after the big storm. 2-3 ft of pow on top of 0 base. sketch in some spots where the wind had stripped it. couldnt ride anything steep enough to stay above. The day was a FAIL, but now i know whats down there and what to expect if i ever hit it again.

I drove to Ascutney today - complete waste of time. The hill was mostly covered in grass.

still a little thin in some spots, especially down low, but i'd say one more decent-sized storm and most of the woods in the mansfield area should be good to go. fairly deep at stowe today, but i still did catch a couple snow snakes at some inopportune moments and put one nasty core shot in the board. the snowpack is getting deeper, but still be careful when riding in the woods.

ate shit hard on Sunday, still thin down low in central VT, put a 1.5 in wide/5 inch long core shot in the board and separated my shoulder :nononno:

at least it was the rock board and I like to rock

Definitely heading back to Ascutney tomorrow morning (13th), maybe even today. The Mansfield area is supposed to be stupid cold tomorrow. Anyone interested in hitting up Brownsville with me? 6"-12" expected before tomorrow.

Let me know how ascutney is. I am stuck at work but I am kinda thinking about making a trip down there to check it out on Sunday.

Report from Mansfield. Sick! Pretty windy up top but in the protected areas it was deep. Some spots were waist deep. The snow isn't super light but if the clouds clear our tonight it may dry out by tomorrow, fingers crossed.

Definitely more snow at Ascutney than last week. However, areas are still a little sparse. There's a lot of vegetation poking out, but overall it was worth the drive (for me it's about 30 miles). I went today (Friday) and there were tracks laid down by others from yesterday or earlier in the morning.

Thanks for the update. Ive got a friend coming up for the weekend now so I'll be staying inbounds or at least inboundsish at Jay for the weekend now anyway. Looks like they got plenty of snow to keep us happy. I was worried when they said most of the storm wouldnt make it this far north.
