Just finished a DYI split and waiting for some funds to purchase some skins. The voile tractor skins seem like the best option, except for the price. I also came across skinsdirect.com and found them somewhat cheaper.
Just wondering what people are using and what may work besides the Volie skins? I'm most likey not going to be out a whole lot this year as I have several commitments and family. I'm just looking for something to get started on that will be sufficent.
Keep in mind a good set of skins will last you at least a few seasons. I'm on my third season (with plenty of life left) and I know Killclimbz has a set on their 10th season. Up front cost may be high, but you will have them for a while. You can always re glue them or even trim them if you need to on a new set up.

I've been using ClimbingSkinsDirect CSD and so far so good. I know that PedroDelFuego has been using them longer then me so maybe he will let you know his thoughts. Unfortunately, this is my first experience with climbing skins so I don't have much to compare to. I've been out maybe 9 days on them so far. Used them in deep snow and along ridges with very little snow. I think these are the same skins as what K2 uses because I saw a set of skins for new K2 skis and they were the same light blue color and had the same feel and thickness. I wish more companies would sell their skins the way CSD does: Strip of climbing skin material, tip and tail attachments, done. Maybe this would help to bring the cost down of other brands.
Cool, thanks, I will most likely go with Climbingskins direct unless I find a reason not to. The voile's seem to be the favorites, but I guess there really aren't too many options anyway.
