Anyone have a recommendation for a good set of 3 piece poles. I currently have a set with the twist locks and they are crap. Before I spend money on the lock jaw system (I think Atlas and Black Diamond make a set) I wanted to check if there were any others out there that people have used that worked without collapsing on the uphill and freezing at the top so you can't collapse them.

I have some BD 3 stage poles and love them. Have never had them freeze up to the point where I couldn't collapse or extend them. I did have an older pair where they would collapse if I put too much weight on them, but this was after a lot of use, but you can tighten the lock down and that fixed it for me.

Black diamond trail are my personal choice. You can use the lowers on the whippet tops if you decide to go that route. The extra padding is nice.

I think K2 makes a set now as well.
