To build bindings requires completely different machinery than the equipment used to build boards and yes, it is a bit pricey making them. I for one, am glad that there aren't too many companies out there building split specific binders. I think it keeps the products higher quality. If it weren't for the high price tag, I would have bought some already. As long as binders are made here in the US, instead of china, the cost will always be high. So for those who can afford new gear from these companies, please continue to support them. Their products are solid and worth the money if you can afford them.

I know plenty of these "upper elite" splitboarders who live on less that 11K per year...
