Two score years ago, our fathers brought forth on this continent a new means of snow travel [1], conceived in elation and dedicated to the proposition that riding mountains should always be fun.

Now we are engaged in critical time, testing whether splitboard innovation can long endure. We here be dedicated to the great task remaining before us – developing a splitboard interface that is reliable, elegant and fun.

Now we ask that you give us your tinkerers, your inventors, your machinists yearning to create a better splitboard interface system. Send these, the tempest-tost backcountry travelers, to the internet – she lifts her lamp beside the golden door!

For those us seeking a better splitboard interface, it is time to sharpen your drafting pencils and warm up your powertools. Ask not what the snowboard industry can do for you, ask what you can do for the snowboard industry.

Our mission is simple: imagine, invent, fabricate, test, and repeat. And most importantly, post your ideas and findings along the way. Do not patent. Do not copyright. Do it for the love of the backcountry only.

Will the next best splitboard interface be inspired by mountain bike pedals? Camera bayonet mounts? Step-in ski bindings? Rock-climbing ‘biners? Kitchen appliances? Will we use buckles, screws, pins, straps, hooks, zippers or laces?! Will we invent something completely new?

We here resolve that that splitboard innovation shall have a new birth of creativity, and that invention of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish from the mountains.

Great idea though! Ill do it for the progression of the sport, but ill be damned if you make ALL the money off my invention!

if i spent a lot of time and money developing a system, i sure as hell would patent it!
