I used the new dual height climbing heels from Voile yesterday and after one lap, the shorter height riser started to wear out the plastic base that was keeping it up until it wore it out completely and would not stay up by the second lap. The taller riser had no issues.
I double checked to make sure I installed them like the diagram, but it looks like the plastic on the base just wore out. I am at work now, but I need to go home and check and see if maybe there was a compatibility issue with me using Sparks versus the Voile bindings.
I'll call Voile, but thought I would check to see if any one else had a problem.
BTW - for you PNW'ers, Paradise (Mazama) was awesome in terms of coverage Sunday - wish I could get up there on Tuesday.

Scotth I had the same problem. I just let Voile knows and they sent me out replacements. I am a big guy (100kg) plus my pack, I thought this might have contributed. The replacements worked fine. Might have been an early batch of ones that weren't quite right. Don't hesitate to let voile know as their customer service is A+++++

Same issue here too... on two different sets of risers. I've ordered a set of G3 risers that I plan to try out this weekend, hopefully they're a bit sturdier.

I got a same day reply form Voile regarding this issue, and mine haven't actually broke. I just wanted to be proactive. Unfortunately even though I live in SLC I wasn't able to get down to their office before they closed and tomorrow is a holiday
I only use the tall wires from dual setup anyway, so I swapped out my old climbing wire base plates to use with the tall wires for tomorrows touring and I'm going to carry one of the as yet unbroken dual bases in my pack just in case.
Obviously if you want to use both wires, and/or don't have a set of the old style bases laying around this not an option... Anyways I figured I'd share the tip just in case.
These are working perfect for me but I'm using Dynafit toe pieces and can't comment on how they work with Sparks/Light Rails. The first pair of Voile's that I trashed took me 3 weeks last spring, the latest set broke in one day. Over the years I've become convinced that all of Voile's product testers weigh 120lbs.

cracked my dual height riser this week. oddly enough it was fine until i screwed them into the spark heel adapter. put another 10,000-15,000 vert on them and they haven't cracked anymore, yet.... and the wires are staying in place gloriously. i just can't figure how the fuck i cracked the riser

I cracked the actual plastic piece that holds the dual wires in a few weeks ago on my first tour with them, I called Voile and they said they had some material issues and had some new parts coming in, was going to swing by but forgot to, going to pick them up when I get back to slc
