i am new to splitboarding and the people i tend to go out with are skiers and i feel a bit bogged down by the weight of my splitboard, bindings and boots compared to the skiers lighter skis and minimal bindings. does anyone have any thoughts on reducing weight from my feet somehow? are there really light boots out there? particularly light splitboards? thanks!

"Spark Blaze and Karakoram Split 30 are the lightest commercially available binders."
The above is incorrect. A hard boot system can be put together that will take a pound off of any soft boot setup. It is more difficult to put together a set up for hard boots, but the effort is well worth it if one is a serious backcountry rider.
bluegreen - If you like riding in soft boots, check out the 32 Ultralight boots, they are under 2 lbs per boot. That and the Spark Blazes gets you a pretty light setup. I"ve been touring with that combo this season and loving it.
