I've never been a big fan of Ride but this boot looks good, feels pretty good (in the store) and I dig the dual boa idea. And an Intuition liner never hurts either.
Specifically wondering how stiff these boots feel when they're strapped into a binder. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks y'all...

The Insano is similar to last year's Strikes, which I own and modded to be mountaineering boots. So far, they are killer. Just the right kind of flex I want in a soft boot. My boots have original laces..
I'm not too jazzed on the double BOA however. Mainly for 2 reasons: 1) I don't like the fit (most of the time, my T1 internal BOA boots do great), and 2) If your BOA breaks in the BC, you've just shit in a can. Laces are an easy and fast fix...

Here's the response I just got from our local rep:
"The flex definitely mellows out and has a nice long sweet spot. I have 3 team riders on that boot and it breaks in super nice!"
That's encouraging. As far as the Boa breakage, I'm not concerned about that--their website claims a less than 1% breakage rate. I figure if they're good enough for JJ up in AK then they're good enough for me.
Anyway, I just pulled the trigger. I'll post a review when I get some time in them...

Tried them on a few times. They are stiffer than T1s or Malamutes. The way the boa works on the lower part is pretty good (more centered over the tongue), but if I were going to have two boas, I'd want one for the inner liner.

The liner of my K2 T1's just blew up this week, and I sent them to the rep for warrantee.
In the meantime, I bought a pair of the Ride RFL's. This stands for "real fuckin light", and they are! They are SOOOOO light.... Not great for crampons and mountaineering, but I'm really excited to split with them because they feel like a great stiffness, and skinning with seriously ounces on your feet gets me stoked! Kicking steps should be a breeze!

So I've been on these boots for almost 20 days now and am pretty stoked. A few minor issues but I dig the flex and have been stoked on the feel on longer tours thus far.
As far as being worried about the cables breaking. If you are on a hut/extended trip, bring some replacement cables. They are super easy to replace. For a day trip, a Voile strap wrapped around your boot will work in a pinch. It's pretty rare to break the cables though. I've done it twice, early on in my Boa experience. It was due to me not taking care of my boots.
