I've spent a couple days now touring on the Spark Blazes. They fit more firmly and wiggle-free in the Voile touring brackets than the Fuses, due to reconfiguration of the pinhole bushings. The highbacks feel fine to me. There's a proper metal keeper wire, awesome. And they're light. Slick graphics. Good work Will! You gonna drill out the footbeds next go around?
Hopped on my Karakorams today for the first time and confirmed the all-important carpet-dance test. Very quiet, very solid, nice and tight and a totally respectable weight. The tour bracket is where this thing shines for me. No pin, step-in and go; no play whatsoever. I felt like a well-oiled machine on the ups.
A Spark binding that you push from the toeside of the board, with karakoram pins on the front along with their touring bracket? seems like the pefect setup IMO.

Qualifier: I thought I'd be smart and replace the Karakorma risers with my G3s. Word to the wise: this does NOT work. I may have felt like a well-oiled machine, but I certainly didn;t look like one.

For the benefit of those that don't have karakorams, what are you talking about?
What is he talking about?
Yeah, why not just get K binders for all that fuss?
Although Rughty just built some SICK ASS BINDERS! Hopefully he posts pics ;0
I was thinking about mounting the slider track backwards on the bases originally then integrating the axle into the base since I didn't have the bones to slap down on the full K setup. After thinking about it for a while, it just didn't make sense to mix the heaviest parts from the Blaze setup (being the heavy pucks) with the heavier tour brackets from Karakoram.

I assume he's talkig about a hybrid system where the binding mounts on a slider track from front to back (instead of back to front, l;ike voile/spark). That way you can have an integral toe-pin that would take advantage of karakoram's touring bracket (which is unimprovable, IMHO), while keeping the benefits of the slider system. You would need some sort of lock-out on the heel-side of the pucks.
