edit to add that Tuscarora is still rocky and not recommended for descent. A long running sluff appeared to have exited 3 chute aka seagull and gone down apron.
By the amount of tracks up there you'd think the lifts are already running. Still, good right-side up snow can be found but you won't go very far without crossing tracks. Not a bad first tour. Even though it was a quickie.
went to LCC yesterday, got some great early season turns. only ran into a few people, and they were gone by noon. only hit one rock spot, because I am an idiot and got out on a sun exposed lower elevation rock band.. Some of the best early season riding yet.

Got a late start today and figured a long walk would do me more good than banging my head on a rock, so I decided to go kick around in main Days Fork... I knew other places would have better riding, but my inner misanthrope didn't want to deal with humans en-mass.
Anyways, the low angle stuff in main Days rode really good on N, NE aspects, but the steeps were extremely bony. Basically there really isn't much base in this area from the previous storms. So despite there being 8"- 20", every pole plant, or turn plunged all the way to rock or timber.
Either way it was fun, and I needed the exercise. BTW... I love my Scarpa F3's
Conditions were the bomb today! Carla and wasatch surf: Regarding the rumoured crowds: we put in a couple skin tracks today, in-bounds, which I'm pretty sure no one else used. Eric: One ski resort on the left, one on the right: Bony in spots: Not in others: No significant instabilities observed. Some deep drifting and hints of windslab on upper ridges. Certainly there's enough loose snow to sluff on steep slopes, but it was pretty stubborn to do so.
11/9/10 Headed up to Sunset peak with Buckchow, Singlewhitecaveman, and Zak
Buckchow says overthere
singlewhitecaveman pow slasher off the peak of Sunset...snow was stellar!!

went over to check out the Segull...Lots of sharks still, will have to wait
Bailed to Wolverine bowl...Buck slashing it up
The turns kept going...Buckchow
Last chute to Brighton...snow was deep
and were out
Yesterday 11/11/10 went up to Days west Bowl rode NE facing aspects...Snow was fantastic, no rocks
putting in the skinner up Flagstaff
Delicious!! Buddy Seth makin some turns....Slope cuts above produced no results
mmmmmmmmmm!!
NE aspect in West bowl of Days...about three feet+/- snowpack...Snow got firmer as you went towards gound...There is a stout crust layer in the middle of the snowpack with a litle sugar underneath, it seemed to be healing...time will tell... and the new snow was bonding well to crust...Bomber for now
After a couple laps in Days we headed over to Toledo chute, the traverse over from Days to the Toledo Chute was very boney, take it slow!! Toledo Chute is filling in nicely...turns were great
One last shot from Cardiff pass...The exit down to LCC road had some boney sections in the middle but once you got on the main road it was fine
11/12/10 Went out to the birthday chutes in white pine...had some friends who were there the day before, thanks for breaking trail!!
hit the chute with the wavy shadow on it....had to break trail from here to the top, there was a south west wind that filled in the skin track from the day before...on the shoulder there was a stout wind slab about six inches deep in spots...made a slope cut above the chute which produced no results...you can see a slight pillow before the run funnels into the chute which had me a little nervous, thought the snow from the ridge would be deposited here
clouds rolling in , time to go
line was filled in nicely, no rocks, it was full throttle down the chute
from perfect bluebird to being socked in, made it just in time
