Nice comment Russman! One note about this picture, the rider is wearing some Raichle Flexon type ski boots of some vintage-he has a quite narrow stance in the picture, and this would be necessary to use ski boots like this with very little medial/lateral flex. With a good modded AT boot a narrow stance is no longer needed, and one can take advantage of the greater stability afforded by a wider stance. With my modded AT boots, I ride the exact same stance as I use for soft boots: 21" width, 27-30 degrees front, 12-15 degrees back (exact angles determined by board width). I do not like duck stances, as they make it hard to see down the fall line when holding a frontside line on the steeps, but I see no reason why a properly modded AT boot would not work well for those who like to ride duck either.

Freestylin' in fruitboots & a fartbag
I miss the '80s flexons ruled in the era of rear entry They still make them 25 yrs later for a reason and the snowboard versions are still a great boot.
