Snurfer- What is the US prohibition on Swallowtails, is someone enforcing a patent on them or something?
No I'm just being bitter and smug They don't sell well here, so most company's don't stock, or sell them here. Also, most of the really cool ones are made in small quantity with very high craftsmanship, then there is the weak dollar to contend with. Add shipping and it gets out of hand real fast.
Cool, I was not aware of all those guys-There's a lot of good looking topsheets there. Outside of the journey of building your own, I would think you could get your own templated board from Donek in CO for a lot less, and minus the shipping, language hassle and exchange rate.
I had the rare opportunity last year at Sweetgrass's premiere of Signatures, of holding a bunch of Taro's boards in Squallywood. OMG! boys......They are so beautiful , bu t yes the price to contend with is hard to deal with. I mean on a teachers salary its just not worth it. I ratehr buy other boards and that fills the quiver, and the adventures.
I am interested in maybe buying a deck from some one and putting the rest together on my own, like Donnek. I ve never heard of them, Sorry...
As far as our ST 's in the US. Voile's legendary big boys are sure nice in some nice powder, and isn t that what they are all about anyhow.
