Why wouldn't these work great for a split? The Tip loop should work fine oncce you adjust for the angle.

Im thinking about picking up a pair and trying em' out unless someone can come up w/ enough reasons not to...

Go for it... BD says they are designed for skis w/ a waist width of >110mm, and they are 160mm wide, so just about right for a Mojo. Only possible issue is that the BD skins come with tip loops already installed, so you would have to remove the screws, or buy a second set of tip loops. Maybe you could arrange a custom order from BD w/o tip-loops installed?

i cant think of a time when i am looking for less skin under my split, it seems like all the skin tracks are too steep to get any glide anyways, sometime i end up slipping backwards on icy skin tracks so, I will take all the skin i can get.

You attach the skin loop yourself, so I'd be fine there.

As far as less skin for traction, it doesnt seem to be a problem. With our splits as wide as they are, you still have a TON of fur on the snow! Not to mention, out here in the EAST where our approaches are loooong and rolling, any help w/ glide and weight is a good thing.

The new style skins we cut for my buds skis came pre-attached to the tip loops... Those were tailless skins, so it would make sense if STS skins came with the tip loops unattached to adjust length.

I just got a pair of these earlier this winer, and haven't taken them out yet. I'll get back with some feedback, but as far as the setup, etc:

1. Stoked on the adjustable tip loops- lets me fit the skin to the asym 'ski' tip perfectly.

2. Tail clips seem like they will hold very well, but well see in the field.

3. trimming the skins was more compliated, as I had to center the skinless portion, and risked losing some fur at the side cut. I'll see if I can get some pics up.

anyway, I'm all about the glide so I went for it.

I'll get back with how they actually do.

BD Ascension skins are what Voile uses. They buy the material and make them into the Tractor Skins. the Ascension Split is just missing the material in the center.

Also the BD tip connector works great on a splitty, it is the tail attachment you need to worry about. The missing split strip on these will not adhere to the base of the board and may take on snow and come loose.

I just received my split skins for my new board. Looks like the stock tip attachment can be set up asym no problem to fit a splitboard. These are crazy light as well, seems like about a 4 ounce weight saving per skin, huge! I will be cutting off the tail attachment, I never need 'em.

maybe this is a dumb question, but i just got my split skins and they have about a half inch overhang on either side... do i leave that or do i trim them down? i'm using a voile mojo board. if i trim them down, there will be less fur and a bit fat strip of nylon down the middle..?? im a confused gumby...
