Not sure how well they will be able to keep up with demand, but I was told their price tag would be slightly ($50 or so) more expensive than a Voile interface system plus a pair of Voile or Sparks bindings. Very reasonable if you looking to buy a whole interface/binding setup. They are also offering to sell their version of the split hooks (more like clamps) and tip clips (made from a stronger plastic to resist wear) separately.
Agreed, that is pretty reasonable (and good to hear). I'm trying HB's this season, and not planning new soft binders this season, so I'm stoked to hear the hooks may be offered separately. Thx for the info

i got a chance to fondle the karakorums (on a jones board, btw) yesterday and holy crap, it is COOL. it really is everything you've heard- super tech, super easy to use, super stiff, all around cool. i love both voile and spark r+d, they're both incredible companies who have been personally good to me, but this is the future for sure. amazing, amazing interface.
you guys might flame me for this, and that's fine, but i sold my khyber and switched to AT last year because i felt it was just so much easier to tour/move around/switch from tour to ski mode on skis. the karakorum system solves enough of what i was frustrated with to make me want to switch back. on dry land, it was SOOOOO much faster and easier to transition from split to solid mode, soooooo much stiffer, just all around better.
take this with a grain of salt, 'cause i've never actually used in on snow and its been a year or so since i've toured on a split. but even having followed this thread beforehand, i was impressed.
just thought you'd like to hear a relatively objective opinion.

Bryce Any chance of a set to Australia for our season. Its just started and would be nice to check them out. Guys over here are interested. Let me know Cheers
The boys posted a little lookie at their "clamps" on their blog. Its nice to actually get to see how the mechanics of it works after so much chatter here on the interweb.
I'm wondering if those clamp wires will just flop around creating an incessant din while in touring mode. But maybe that was considered in the design and can me mitigated by good skinning technique? Or possibly tight interference between the wire and clamp latch so it doesn't swing around freely?
Hey Snurfer. Here ya go. I just ordered the clamp/tip and tail clips yesterday. Here is a link to the Karakorum store. http://www.karakorambc.com/store

I've been beat to posting info about the Karakoram store going live. I put the store up last week to start taking pre-orders for full Split30 systems and board clips. We're offering a discount for anyone who pre-orders. There are more details on the Karakoram Blog: http://karakorambc.blogspot.com/2010/08 ... -sale.html At this time we are only selling product in the United States and Canada.
Our retail pricing is a bit higher than the competition, but we are also offering an entire new platform and not just the bindings. For comparison a Universal Kit ($160) and Bindings ($299) go for $459, so we're about $140 more.

Haha, I just saw it today... sorry for beating you to the punch
So to clarify, if I bought your kit, I would just need to buy Skins? I guess it is not THAT much more then...
