Brought to us by the glorious inventors of the ODAT tracker (Steepandcheap.com, etc)
Its an augmented reality Inclinometer. I picked this up for 99 cents. Anyone here trust the iphones accelerometers and GPS to determine slope angle/aspect/elevation?
Anyone compared its accuracy to a traditional inclinometer and compass?
But seriously: If you are using an Iphone to check slope angles, play tunez, or do anything in the backcountry, be advised that tests show GSM phones like Iphones can significantly interfere with nearby avy beacons in search mode, apparently worse than a typical CDMA band phone: http://www.wildsnow.com/1609/jonathans- ... est-notes/ I think the bottom line is if you have to search for someone, make sure your phone/ipod/etc is OFF, to reduce interference.

Hey Iphone users, just noticed that there's a free California Road Conditions app. Pretty easy to get around on too. Check it out.
I also found a free altimeter app called Elevation Pro. It's obviously not gonna be super accurate but good enough to use as back-up to support your boasting in the bar.
