My brother and I have been getting into making our own boards. A lot of work went into this bad mofo right here. 172, rocker, reverse sidecut, 13 inch waist. So stoked!

What Are you going to do for crampons? I'm just about to do a Libtech T Rice Bannana Hammock . The waist is 305mm, too wide for Voile crampons, might have to make some?
So I've finally had a chance to ride this thing a few times. Work's got me living in a hot, flat place and traveling A LOT, so I haven't been able to get my usual fill of riding.
Anyway the board rides awesome in the wide open pow where you can keep some speed. Super surfy buttery feel. Regular or switch, the rocker keeps the nose up when you're moving. No back leg burn. But you do need speed to stay on top of the snow. Coming from a stop in the deep stuff, the small nose wants to dive until you get moving. But once you are moving...awesome.
Took it to Abasin to test the handling on groomers. Just wanted to see what it would be like on some hard packed snow. Surprisingly, I rode it two runs without falling. Not easy, but somewhat rideable. Good enough that I will be taking it out on the deepest of resort pow days and I don't think I'll kill myself getting back to the lift.
Firstlight, not sure about crampons, might look into making some. Although this is probably not the board I will be riding on days when you need crampons!
We're real stoked on the quality of boards we've been able to build on our first few tries. We're both big heavy guys (6'6", 220lb) and pretty hard on boards. No problems. Next will be a more conventional shaped split, 172, with rockered profile. Same shape as this one, but using our rockered mold.
Then its back to the crazy stuff. That's why we started this project, so we can build the boards that we can't buy. We're going to build a new mold. I'm thinking something along the lines of 200 cm with a profile sort of like Burton's s-rocker. Big rockered nose, camber setback between the feet. I want a big wide swallowtail split and a big wide pintail split. Imagine a board shaped similar to the NS Summit, but 200cm long and wide enough to fit my size 13 with 0 degree stance in the back. I can't wait!
