Anyone heading out this weekend? The weather is looking pretty sketchy (i.e. rainy), up north near Baker, Stevens Pass, etc, but better to the south, around Crystal. I'm hoping to get out on Sat. or Sun. (or both?!).

Yeah, curious as to what people found out there this weekend. Didn't look/sound promising, but there had to be some pockets somewhere. Gotta work tomorrow or I'd head out with ya ale.

I found buttery smooth slushpow turns off Mt Herman! It was 47 degrees at the Baker ski area today, and the slush was so epic deep that in some ways it really did feel like riding pow! Once you got good speed and could open the flood gates edges held on the slush like nobody's beeznatch!! My switch fontside 5's are coming along too, which makes me insanely stoked!!!

G&L. It was a wet one.
Had some fun poaching the stevens pass nordic centre with my puppy. It was just barely drizzling ice pellets, and the snow was soggy, but firm. Snow level wasn't too far above me. Hate i say it.... was good nordic weather.
Did a few skinless laps in AT gear to get her used the big funny things on my feet going "Clack Clack Clack", and to the down hill.

Hey Ale (and others),
Nope, didn't make it out last weekend. I just couldn't get excited about it. Crumby weather, etc. Yeah, let's hope that this weekend improves. If anyone wants to get out on Sat. or Sun. (provided the weather doesn't suck), get in touch. I need some mountain time!

Trying to remain optimistic for the weekend. Hoping to do some X-country patrolling tomorrow @ Hyak.
Thursday looks like there might be a small window, and better to the east.. until it slams shut with tomorrows forecast. I most likely will be going to either Mastiff/Howard or something nearby. Depending on how it looks on the drive over, but I will be going somewhere. Possiblilty of several inches up higher. Most likely not, and a sufferage through the lower elevation to find out.. Anybody?
I sure wouldn't go wasting time off at work for it.

I'm going to Yodlin this Saturday with people from the ski mountaineering course I'm taking. Has anyone been up there lately? Not really looking forward to this slog but I gotta get out sometime I guess. I've just been sitting on my ass, getting fat and waiting for some good conditions.

Who are you taking the course with T?
I haven't been to Yodelin since the 4th. I try to only go there when the conditions are too sketchy... sketchy. I love the tree riding when it's dumping, and the short pillow lines at the top of the road are fun.
John, I'll give you a shout later tomorrow. Hopefully with a positive report.
