what are the conditions like around mammoth lakes

Anyone been up that way? I seem to remember more bitching when there was this little snow in years past. Is anyone else going crazy waiting for rideable conditions???

bump for info- I'd love to know what's going on up there, particularily what it's like @ rock creek.

great storm this last weekend, for wall street... lots of snow at mammoth mountain and june, but north and south didn't get as much. rock creek is minimal coverage, probably not worth the effort. long approaches to high north faces may have some promise, but slogging through the sage might be more trouble than it's worth.

any info on what rock creek's looking like now? has it been getting the same coverage that mammoth's been getting?

Yep, was up there this past weekend for crevasse rescue practice and things were lean :cry:

Did Bardini Chutes today. Coverage is thin but the north faces are holding dry cold smoke. Bring your rock board and enjoy - 2-3 inches falling outside as I type.
