Hey, I'm Bryce, co-owner of Karakoram. The binding system linked to in this thread is not ours. My brother Tyler and I have been working hard for the last two years developing our new splitboard system, which is a completely new system that does not use any components from existing splitboard products. We are looking forward to introducing our splitboard product to the market in early 2010, at which time we will be releasing the details on our system. Thank you for your interest in our company and products. Checkout our website http://www.karakorambc.com for more details in the future. -Bryce
Hey Bryce, Looks like your site has been updated a bit. So are you introducing a binding for the existing split platform, or do you have an all new interface? Your site is pretty vague in this regard. Is this because of the "patent pending" on your page? If so I can understand if you don't want to divulge what your doing, but please do

Where did you pull this quote from? I was looking at the Karakoram page last week and am hoping to hear more details from them. Was kind of surprised to find a splitboard-based design Web site that I hadn't read about on splitboard.com. Maybe it's just me but I feel that splitboard.com is truly the pulse of splitboarding online.

I think it's a common practice when developing anything new to not release too many details. If you do, the public will hold you to those details. That's limits your ability to make changes in design and not the best way to produce new ideas.
I've know these guys for some time and have been watching them develope this product. I'm amazed at their creativity and how they problem solve. Their design has evloved since I first saw it and although I haven't sccen their lastest version I've heard it's awesome! I'm hoping to get them up to the Mt Baker Festival for a demo so everyone can check it out.
Ha! I posted some TR images last Spring of the new binding system and no one noticed.
This is the twins on Kendal Knob last spring testing their prototypes.

Hey Snurfer,
My brother and I have developed a completely new system, a new binding, a new ride mode interface and a new tour mode interface. We developed our split system with the main requirements being: Riding Performance, Touring Efficiency and Durability. Tyler and I are engineers, so we have a tendency to continually improve the design based off of our testers' feedback. As I've mentioned on our website we are in the last stages of beta testing and we are waiting to collect the latest round of test data before we show how everything works. More info should be posted up in the coming months.

We are planning on being at the Mt. Baker Split fest March 27th-28th. We should have a couple of the latest binding systems for people to check out.
As far as availability goes, our first full production run will most likely be available in the October time frame. We have been doing a small limited release this winter with a few more going out this spring.

Sounds sick. Here's hoping karakoram becomes the dynafit of the splitboard world.
Need a beta tester? I'll do my best to break 'em!
Hey Treepilot, it was rad meeting you this weekend! I don't know about you, but I'm insanely stoked on Bryce and Tyler's system. What do you think? Seems like they really could become the Dynafit of Splitboarding...? Its pretty lightweight...
