12 ft Crown explosive triggered slide

I was up there that day and heard they were bombing from a copter in the moring. Here's a clear shot of the crown from the same vantage point:



Oh yeah, and here's my new blue jacket I had to buy because I forgot my shell :

Where at Stevens was this and why did they need to bomb it? Was is threatening the ski area?

Seen the video on stevens pass website. Didn't see as story as to who or why. I was at Yodelin when it was going down. I could hear, but not see a damn thing.

It's the opposing ridge on the backside, across mill creek, above the power lines.

Yeah, what's the point. Is a road or resort near by.

Of course a big hanging snowfield with lots of new snow is going to avalanche with a bomb.

The chute on the left looks fun.

That was the back side of Cowboy mountain. I took my shot from the top of Big Cheif. I think they blew that because there's tails just below that. The run out actually looked like it came out pretty close to those areas.
