I've been riding for 20+ years but I'm new to splitting, just putting together my set up now.
The boots I'm currently using are about 15 years old and not comfortable enough for me to try on a split.
So, are there boots I should avoid? What boot is considered best for b/c?

Whats best for someone else is always a tough one to answer... You'll see a lot of soft booters on this forum going with either the Driver X (Burton), or Malamutes (Salomon).

[EDIT] Sorry, realized after I posted you asked what NOT to get.... :oops:

This is the boot I use.

I find them verry light, comfy and they stay warm no matter if i slip off and rock and slide into a creek!

They also have quite a few kms on them either in boot packing in the snow or hiking along a trail for 6km after riding all day!
