LTCC's Wilderness Education department will be offering some AIARE courses this winter. Below is the proposed schedule, it's not official, but I think it will match reality very closely. Registration begins in early December. If anyone has a question about any of these courses feel free to shoot me a pm. Now we just need snow...

January
5,7,9,10 AIARE L1 (evenings only on 1/5 and 1/7)
15-17 AIARE L1
21-24 AIARE L2


February
5-7 AIARE L1
8-11 AIARE L2
19-21 AIARE L1

Possibly one more L1 in March

Yo Dave not sure what AIARE means but if its the multiday backcountry trip count me in, last years was bad ass

The Multiday was pretty ridiculous last year. Best January ski tour I've ever had. Hopefully we get more powder, blue skies, and stable snow this year.

AIARE is American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education. Your buddy James should probably talk you into taking a Level 1. These are pretty popular avi courses. I know folks, especially those that don't live in Tahoe, are starting to plan their winter and the dates of these courses aren't officially announced until late November which is kind of late so I wanted to get them out there.
