What have we here?

175 cm length, tip/waist/tail dims of 290/295/285mm.
Edge to edge rocker, reverse camber, and a very stiff flex.






It´s constructed much like a skateboard - it has horizontal layers of wood instead of a sandwich/sidewall type. It has a layer of aramid fibre between the base and the core, in addition to a shitload of triaxial 22oz fibreglass. The top sheet, to which pictures do not do justice, is made out of a sheet of cherry wood, and is simply stunning.

From carpet jibbing, it seems very willing to pop, and easy-peasy to roll around. It´ll most likely be absolutely useless on hardpacked, and downright dangerous. In pow, corn and slush, though, it will be spectacular.

Yes, it was expensive - whole new mold over at Igneous Skis in Jackson Hole had to be built, and it has quite a lot of material and labour put into it.

Props to Mot at Igneous for helping me create this. My drawings, his additional crazy ideas and amazing craftmanship made this work. Look for it around Jackson Hole in the 10/11 season, I´m going!!

That is rad! Based on the pics and your description I assume there are no edges? Didn't you want edges? Seems like a lot of trouble to build up a press, etc., and not add any edge.

Tucked in edges, ala Mervin. If anything, for protecting the sidewalls (not really sidewalls - horizontal layup walls, heh).


I think it´s going to be pretty fast and stable.

I gotta say. I weighed it and my split for comparison tonight. Results were kind of alarming.

Premier 163 (164 true length) with Sparks: 6400 grams.
Iggy with Unions: 6900 grams.

I actually thought beforehand that it was heavier.

That's an incredible snowboard. Congratulations. If I lived anywhere near JH, I'd be hounding you to let me take it for a spin.

.....also, you have a shitload of TP. Your photo will haunt my thoughts the next time I hit a trailhead toilet and discover that there isn't any buttwipe.

Thanks Bones! I don´t live anywhere close to America, but going for the first time since 2006 in 2011 (mainly to bum around and shred), and my main targets are Jackson and CO to go say hi to Killclimbz and "maybe" get me some touring.

This is going to kill. The tips are really low and really, really stiff, so when I eventually hit some hard shit snow, I think the snow is going to be sliced and punched rather than be floated upon. We´re making a snowboard flick in Narvik, Norway this season, and there might be a riding part for me involved. Hopefully, you´ll get to see the board in action there.

A review will be posted as soon as I get the hang of riding her on her preferred terrain.


About the TP: I buy shitwipes in bulk, and when I came to the point that I only had 12 rolls left in my stash, I had to call my TP contact person and order another 48. I always have TP in my pack, because you never know when shit hits the sphincter.
