Hey guys, for lack of any good backcountry snowboarding trip photos and out of boredom along with seeing some other great summer TRs... I offer to you a nice little overnight my girlfriend and I did about two months ago in Desolation Wilderness. It DOES have snow in it though!
Entering the Wilderness looking tough as ever.
Looking towards the Crystal Range (and Kelly- if you can spot her)
A few artsy shorts...
We reach Twin Lakes and found this neat tree, Kelly shows it off for us!
We eat lunch on the shore of Twin Lakes watching an Osprey or some bird of prey dive in the lake but come up empty! No photos of that unfortunately! He/she rides the thermals back to the cliffs as we eye our route over the pass between peak 9,441' to the right and 8,925' to the left.
The hike up the pass was steep and fun! Floored to be almost at Tyler Lake! Great views looking towards the bowl formed by Mt. Price and over Island Lake and Twin Lakes
Little piece of snow on top of the pass, I mock shred it while some ridable patches of snow lay in the background. That one long skinny patch was definitely interesting looking!
Watch out for snowballs!
The view of the secluded lake! Really close now!
Yep we're right abooooooooooooooooout... THERE!
Cliff band shades a patch of snow about 30 feet long. We glissade down it for fun!
Getting closer to the lake!
Ahhh we finally arrive and setup camp
Cooking dinner
Dinner is served!
Sunset that night was awesome
The next morning getting ready to go. It was so cool how the lake is just hanging there overlooking Willow Flat. It wasn't that steep a drop off the south south-west shore of the lake but it definitely created an amazing illusion.
Overall a really great trip! Not too crowded, especially at Tyler lake! It has me thinking about how to access this in the winter since it's pretty far from both Hwy 89 and Hwy 50. I assume Wrights Lake Rd is closed during the winter!

Thanks man! I saw your summer TR in the same neck of the woods so it motivated me to finally put a TR up. I just can't get enough of the stoke on this site while waiting for winter to come around so I figured I'd share some too!
