Hi and thank you all for the comments.
@greb: Yes I can ski.
Heelbinding is my design. It has 5 positions:
A spring on the axis of the bracket will keep the position when i walk.
The central part of the skis is symmetric (even curvature on the 2 sides of skis) which allows for about the same grip curve. I must go carefully, there is no security...

How well do those camming bars hold it together when it's in surf/snowboard mode? Do you notice any play in it? How does it compare to a 2 piece splitboard in terms of ride quality, etc?

Rad thread to resurrect, Gunnar. While I don't know of the three-part randoski/split you speak of . . .
Here is a now defunct company out of Britan which made the Bulldog out of two mini skis and plate bindings. It seems to me, if you could get your hands on some bulldog bindings and fashion up a center section, you'd be in business.
And here is a more recent vid showing some dudes in Colorado with a homemade three piece "Survivalboard" complete with a saw, compass, flint, emergency shovel. It also turns in to an impromptu snurfer. They said the medial edges make the ride kinda funky.
