Anyone been checking up on the weather? Mammoth area is calling for thunderstorms on Sat. night? think it will happen or blow thru :?:

Heading up Friday after work, probably roll in around 1 AM.

The exit is Conway Summit, right? Just follow that till the end of the road?

I am coming early on Saturday morning, arriving maybe 8am-ish assuming I don't have to work. Shellie's coming too if there will be at least one not-so-hardcore skier/rider to hang out and do some turns with.

At Conway Summit on 395, midway between Bridgeport and Lee Vining, turn onto VA Lakes Rd. Go until the road runs out and park.

What time will we start climbing on Saturday morning?

Cool. My girlfriend (Kelly) is coming along so maybe Shellie and Kelly can hang out together for some turns. :)

Shellie should definitely come. I would love to see another girl there! Is she a splitboarder too? I have just a handful of days on my new splitboard and would be happy to have a partner to hike for some turns with. :D

Welcome to the forum, GirlRider. Shellie is an AT skier and she's somewhat familiar with VA Lakes' Black Mountain area. I think Mrs. Powderjunkie may be there too and she's a splitter.
